Oat porridge is the best breakfast meal! We are about to find out why. Oatmeal is made from oat grains. Oat is one of the healthiest edible grains in the world. – Helps in weight lose plan. Oat stores energy in the body and releases this energy gradually over time, this makes you feel full for a longer time, preventing you from craving for food in between meals.

– Oat Porridge: An excellent breakfast idea. To make it healthier, cook oats in water and garnish it with dried or fresh fruit. Do not add sugar! You may use honey to sweeten it instead of sugar. To make savory Oatmeal, chop your favorite vegetables, pour them into the pot, add the desired amount of oatmeal and boil them all together.

– Oat in smoothie – This could be a perfect breakfast or dinner for you. Put your normal combination of fruits or fruits and vegetables into your smoothie maker. Add a table spoon of oat flour and blend to a smooth thick paste. It will thicken your smoothie and keep you full till the next meal.

– Oat Fufu: This meal would be ideal for lunch or dinner. Ingredients: oat flour and hot water. Bring water to the boil, add oat flour and stir until you have a bread dough consistency. Add a little bit of water, boil it for 5 minutes, mix till smooth and serve. Oat fufu is enjoyed with soups such as Okra soup, Ewedu soup, Efo-riro or plain tomato stew.

 

 

– Oat in soup: Sprinkle a table spoon of oat flour in to your soup to give it the desired thickness. And simmer for about 10 minutes.

  1. I know oatmeal is a healthy and full of nutrition food. There are many ways to use oats to prepare delicious meal.

    I thought that oats is only use for cooking and never know that it has many benefits for healthy skin.

    Knowing that oats is used to treat eczema, dry skin, itching skin and is a natural remedy for chicken pox and poison ivy, is a great information.

Hi there,I rarely post comments on the internet, but I couldn’t go without thanking you for this amazing post which contains a lot of helpful information.I struggle quite with weight loss and though I tried eating oats I can’t say I enjoyed it.. but now I see why.. I ate only oats with milk (no fruits, no nothing) + it never came to me that I can put oats in soap or my smoothies.. Thanks for opening my eyes, I will definitely try those recipes out!

  3. To be honest I stopped eating Oats and after reading your Oatmeal Nutrition Facts post I realized I did a huge mistake.

    Planning to add it to my breakfast and thanks a lot for sharing the valuable information. I am astonished at the big lists of Oat health benefits.

    Reducing wait and hair loss seems to be a big problem many are struggling with but Oats provides solution for that with many other benefits.

    I gone through hernia operation and the doctors advised me to intake more fiber. I am shocked and happy to see “Oatmeal contains soluble and insoluble fiber. The combination of these fibers is a great help in bowel movement.”

  4. I’m a big fan of oatmeal, I know, lot’s of people call me crazy… 😉

    I use is every morning adding it to my healthy smoothie and it does make a big difference wheter or not I make it to lunchtime without getting hungry at around 10 AM.

    On weekends, one of my favorite recipes are oatmeal pancakes which are very easy to make and sometimes I even add chocolate chips to it. One word, delicious!

I have been thinking for a long time whether to try oats, especially in porridge. Now I am convinced hundred percent that I should try. Can I add oats to my cereal ?
